Triptorline Acetate

Triptorelin Acetate is a synthetic deca-peptide that is used in the treatment of prostate cancer, estrogen-dependent breast cancer and other diseases affected by sex hormones such as endometriosis and uterine fibroids due to the decrease in the level of sex hormones in both sexes.

Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) is naturally pulsatingly secreted in the body from the hypothalamus and causes the release of FSH and LH from the pituitary gland. Triptorelin is a GnRH agonist, so its use (due to the constant blood level of the drug, as opposed to the natural pulse level of the hormone) causes continuous stimulation of the pituitary gland and inhibits the release of FSH and LH from the pituitary gland. The lack of secretion of these two hormones inhibits the secretion of sex hormones such as testosterone and estrogen from the gonads.
