Dota-Toc Acetate

 

DOTA-TOC acetate or Edotreotide is used as an effective substance to produce radiopharmaceuticals used in imaging methods such as PET-CT SCAN. In its peptide structure, the amino acid tyrosine has been replaced by phenylalanine at position 3 of octreotide acetate, and the DOTA linker has been attached to it to enable the connection of different radioisotopes. Dota-toc acetate, like octreotide acetate, binds to somatostatin receptors that are present in the cell membrane of many types of neurologic and glandular tumors, and when labeled with radioisotopes, can lead to cytotoxicity in a specific tissue.
