DOTA-TOC
DOTA-TOC, also known as Edotreotide, is a useful compound for making radiopharmaceuticals used in imaging procedures as PET-CT Scan. In DOTA-TOC structure, the phenylalanine has been substituted for tyrosine at position 3 of the octreotide acetates, moreover, the DOTA chelator is attached to allow for the binding of various radioisotopes. DOTA-TOC, like octreotide acetate, binds to the somatostatin receptors found on the cell membranes of a variety of neurologic and glandular tumors and when labeled with radioisotopes, can lead to cytotoxicity in a specific tissue.
