Argireline Acetate (acetyl hexapeptide-3), is a synthetic anti-aging cosmetic peptide based on natural proteins. Argireline is a chain of peptides formed by 6 amino acids. It has a similar mechanism to the Botulinum toxin, and prevents neurotransmitter release from neurons to muscles, and since those neurotransmitters are necessary for muscular contraction, muscle movements or contractions are inhibited. It is also scientifically believed that reducing muscle contractions can reduce the depth of existing wrinkles and inhibit the formation of new lines.
